Friday 20th August 2004 - Lots and lots of news this week. I know, I know, I didn't post anything last week... but things
have been a blur. Well... maybe not a blur, but at least a bit more fast-paced than usual.
The week of the August 9th, I was packing intermittently. As moving day drew closer, the packing built up, and that
final weekend at home was a real pain in the neck to keep everything straight.
Ultimately, on August 16th, I actually moved. There wasn't a terrible amount of stuff, but some of it was rather large
and cumbersome (i.e. my loft (which I got for $20... suckers...) ). I have spent the past week or so getting set up and fit
in here on campus. All the requisite administrative stuff: finished. My roommate: finally moved in, as of today. Everything
seems ducky, so far. I've even done some training at the dining center already.
So, loyal minions, what is it you'd like to know? I don't really have much to tell... things have been pretty quiet around
here, so far. I've seen plenty of other people move in, and I'm glad to note that it didn't seem any easier for most of them.
A couple or three trips up and down in the elevators, loft troubles, the whole nine yards.
I haven't met a whole lot of new people, really. My RA, Keith Stiffler (yes, you read that correctly), another student
on my floor named Adam (President of Dancer Hall, my tower dormitory)... and I met up with a couple of girls I met at orientation.
All in all, pretty quiet, uneventful stuff. I can only hope it stays that way next week, when classes fire up.
Hmm... so, keep watching the skies, noses to the grindstone, that sort of thing. A striking paradox--let me know if you
can pull those two off simultaneously. Send me mail, or something, ask me how I'm doing at college, all right?
