Sunday 20 July 2008: So... here's the thing: I graduated. All that angst about whether or not I should be teaching kids for the rest of my life? Needless, and mostly to blame on my insecurity and my student teaching supervisor. Go figure.

But guess what? I'm done. College is over. There were great things, and in the end there were some not-so-great things. I continued my streak of being wacky and intellectual, but also my streak of not partying and not engaging in destructive behavior. Will it pay off? We'll see.

Now, I'm coming to you (delayed) from my mom's house. Absolutely awesome. On the other hand, I'm no longer paying two rents a month, so that part is great. As much as I can't stand being at home with my mother, I've got a stable job for the summer, and I'm angling to get out soon. I work with kids at a summer day camp, right now. You could say it's a trial sometimes.

In the employment vein, I've got a gig for the fall at the alternative high school in my hometown. Again, benefits and drawbacks, but I'm looking forward to seeing if I succeed or fail. I had to force myself to type that last sentence--it's not technically true, but I'm trying to trick myself into thinking it is.

For now, I'm taking one last class at my hometown college (insert laugh track). I tutor a couple kids in reading 5 days a week. It's intellectually easy, but it keeps me very busy on top of my regular 40-hour/week job. I'm not even getting paid for this tutoring gig! Very lame.

Hmm... anything I missed? Oh, yeah: D&D is great. All-star team assembled, including some undiscovered all-stars. It's fun, but I've got one message to a certain fan of this site: Where did you go, man? It's like you dropped off the face of the earth, or--more likely--up and moved without letting me know. Not cool. I'd like an e-mail or something. I hope you're doing all right, wherever you are, but I wish we had hung out before you left. That's the end of the message.

Anyway, on this latest leg of my life's journey, I'm hoping that things are more upbeat, more interesting, and mostly more regular than they have been. Sorry about that big gap earlier this year; my Internet went out at my last apartment. Serves me right for stealing the wireless...

P.S. After looking through three or four years of my posts, even I'm prepared to say that I'm a whiny bitch.
